Result of the Veterans Tournament - 2017/18

The 10 pairs played in a single group with every pair playing each of the other pairs in one game to 21 points with no setting. Pairs were awarded a handicap based on age, with one point for every 3 years the combined age exceeded 80 with handicaps scaled back as required.

Every pair won at least one game and no pair managed to win every game. Pete Knott and Liz White despite finishing 7th with only 2 wins had a lot of close games and could easily have won on a different day, but Matt Hillman and Debbie Lelliot were consistent throughout and deserved to win. It was close for the runners-up spot with 2 pairs winning the same number of games and scoring the same number of points! The final standings were decided on the result of the game they played against each other. So Andy Knox and Liz Osborne finished 2nd with Duncan Taylor and Wendy Symonds in 3rd.
