Result of the Divisional Tournaments - 2018/19

Division One

With 8 pairs entered this tournament was played in a single group with every pair playing each other. Matches consisted of a single game to 21 points with no setting. Positions were decided by most games won with a tie between 2 pairs settled by the result of the match between them.

Congratulations to Charlie and Lynn who won all of their matches to win the tournament. Ben & Claire pipped David & Hannah for 2nd because they beat them in their head-to-head match.

Division Two

The 5 pairs played each other twice during the evening with each match consisting of a single game to 21 points with no setting. This format was chosen rather than having each match of 2 games so that pairs could rethink their strategy. The return matches were played in a different order to the original matches. As before positions were decided by most games won with a tie between 2 pairs settled by the result of the match between them.

The winners were in doubt until the final match with Will & Alison edging Paul & Angela 21-19 in a very tense and close-fought match.
