With eight pairs entered the Division One tournament was split into 2 groups, with semi-finals and a final. Barry Harriss and Fiona Rooke beat everyone in their group as did Sergey Liosota and Wendy Field in the other. They both won their semi-finals but Barry and Fiona were too strong in the final.
Lindsay Smith and Jane Reddaway from Westland were far too strong for everyone else, winning the Division Two tournament with ease. With the exception of Cliff and Beny, everyone else finished tied for 2nd place and had to be separated by points won, the honour going to Mark Newberry and Helen Taylor from Crewkerne Hermitage. Surprisingly with the even nature of the pairings, no matches went to a deciding game!
