Result of the PartnerSwap Tournament - 2010/11

There was a healthy interest in the tournament this year with ten pairs entered.

Games were played to 21 points with no setting. Points scored by a pair in any single game were awarded to both players of the pair, and the total points scored over all of the rounds were accumulated to give each player an individual score. By the very nature of the tournament, players and their original partners played in totally different matches, so would not expect to attain the same scores. Only after every match had been played was the hidden handicap added to give a total score.

The men were reasonably even, grouped into small clusters with only a few points between them. Congratulations to Francis Chudley, last year’s runner-up, who went one better this year to finish in 1st place. Steve Meen also improved on 2009 finishing in 2nd.

With the exception of first and last places, the ladies were very closely matched with only 9 points separating 8 ladies. However the winner by a clear 11 points was Jo Padwick from Westfield Gryphons with Helen Taylor leading the pack in 2nd.
